KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has decided to keep the policy rate unchanged for the next two months – October and November.

According to the Monetary Policy for the next two months, the basic rate will remain unchanged at 10 percent for October and November.

The SBP has underscored the need for introducing tax reforms to keep the fiscal deficit at a minimum level. In this context, the central bank has decided not to change the policy rate for the next two months.

It is pertinent to mention that the SBP has been maintaining the discount rate at 10 percent since November 2013.
