MULTAN: Veteran politician, Javed Hashmi on Wednesday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has served on him a four-line show-cause notice which levels no charges against him.
“What reply should I give to this notice,” wondered Hashmi during a press conference here at his residence.
He said the party has issued the show-cause notice in a face-saving attempt.
“The show-cause only states that I have been suspended and that I have to appear before the disciplinary committee (of PTI) to explain my position at 11 AM on September 29,” he told the reporters.
He reiterated that the one who has issued the show-cause notice to him had no legal standing in the party because, according to the PTI’s constitution, the General Secretary of the party has to be an elected candidate. “But, Jehangir Tarin is not an elected General Secretary,” he maintained.
Javed Hashmi said the PTI’s constitution is a solid document and even the central committee of the party was incompetent to strip him of his position. He said he is still the President of PTI.
