Shaikh Rasheed doesn’t write Butt with name out of shame: Hashmi

MULTAN: Veteran politician Javed Hashmi Monday said although Awami Muslim League (AML) leader Shaikh Rasheed belongs to Butt community, he avoids suffixing his name with it out of shame.

He expressed these views while addressing a press conference here at his residence.

Hashmi said Multan’s constituency NA-149 had played an important role for supremacy of the Parliament and protection of democracy and it would be mentioned in the history of the Parliament in golden words.

He claimed that it is a joint decision of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Allama Tahirul Qadri to overthrow the incumbent assembly.

Javed Hashmi said if the PTI had not boycotted the by-elections, then instead of fielding its candidate as an independent contestant, it should have given him a ticket as well as the election symbol of ‘Cricket Bat’.
