Deaths by liquor: Excise department suspends directors, others

KARACHI: Two directors and four deputy directors of Excise Department have been suspended after toxic liquor killed scores of people in Karachi and Hyderabad.

According to a statement issued by Excise Minister Gyan Chand, the department has also suspended the licenses of spirit.

Officials and personnel deployed in Korangi and Malir were also suspended, while 24 suspects were arrested for selling poisonous liquor.
