KARACHI: Dejected by miserable performance of Pakistan Cricket Team, sports fans in Pakistan are provided with something to cheer about, by the Pakistan’s Polo team qualifying for next year’s Polo World Cup.

In qualifiers of FIP World Cup Zone D play-offs, played at Tianjin China, Pakistan defeated arch-rivals India to book their ticket to Chili, host of next year’s polo world cup.

India got the flying start in the match and took a 4-1 lead after initial rounds, but Pakistan fought back to level the match 8-8 and eventually won it 9-8 in sudden death.

Saqib Khakwani was adjudged “most valuable player” for his outstanding performance during the game.
