Court issues arrest warrants for CEO ARY Salman Iqbal

ISLAMABAD: A session court in Islamabad issued arrest warrants for the owner of ARY Television Network Salman Iqbal on defaming Jang/Geo group on Tuesday.

According to sources, the court issued the arrest warrants after CEO ARY Network Salman Iqbal failed to appear in the court today. The court had summoned anchor Mubashir Lucman and Salman Iqbal for today, however, both did not appear in court.

Mubashir Lucman submitted a medical certificate in the court to get exemption from the hearing.

Additional Sessions Judge was hearing the case regarding defaming Jang/Geo group without any proof during which the arrest warrants for Salman Iqbal were issued. The court also ordered him to submit surety bonds worth Rs 20,000.
