Hafeez declared fit for Test selection

KARACHI: Pakistan all rounder, Mohammad Hafeez has been declared fit and will be available for selection for the first Test against Australia starting in Dubai from Oct 22, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Thursday.

Hafeez was put through batting, bowling and fielding sessions for the last three days. After the batting session today Dr Sohail Saleem General Manager Sports Medicine PCB under whose watch Hafeez was undergoing recovery and rehab declared him ready to play with one proviso. While bowling and fielding Hafeez has been advised to wear support for the next few days.

Hafeez had suffered a deep laceration to the base of the left thumb while fielding a firmly struck ball during a warm up 50 over match at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Oct 3.
