KARACHI: More than 8,000 candidates took part in the entry test for admissions in NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, a premier engineering education institute of Pakistan.

There are about 2,000 seats in the varsity in different engineering disciplines. This year the varsity has introduced three new departments: development science, management science and textile development management.

Thousands of parents and friends accompanied the candidates and traffic jam was witnessed on main University Road due to the parking of thousands of vehicles. However, the students and parents demanded to increase the number of seats in NED University of Engineering and Technology to ensure that maximum number of candidates can get admissions.
