MULTAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi Saturday said if the government was really serious in coming to the dialogue table, it should stop issuing statements and be more practical in its approach.

“Let alone opening the door for talks, the government hasn’t even opened the ventilator,” Shah Mehmood Qureshi said at a protest demonstration being staged against the privatization of Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDC) here.

He said he had also resigned from his National Assembly seat in the previous government’s rule but the then speaker had accepted it without asking any questions before arranging the by-election on the same.

Qureshi called for acceptance of his party MNA’s resignations just like the way the previous government did.

He said those who smashed the window panes of cars were awarded punishment but those behind Model Town tragedy were allowed to go scot-free. “They should also be nabbed,” he demanded.
