BERLIN: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Tuesday welcomed Germany’s initiative of establishing Energy Forum and that German investors have shown interest in Pakistan’s energy sector.

Nawaz Sharif, who is presently in Germany on a two-day official visit, was addressing a press conference along with German Chancellor Angela Merkel following their meeting here.

The Premier said regional and international matters came under discussion during the meeting of both the dignitaries.

He said Germany holds importance in Pakistan’s foreign policy and bilateral cooperation between the two countries is ongoing in many fields including Higher Education.

Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan hopes to defeat the cancer of terrorism sooner than later.

He termed the lynching of a Christian couple by a mob in Kot Radha Kishan as a shameful incident that deserves condemnation. Pakistan government has issued order for its judicial inquiry and the culprits will be eventually brought to justice, he added

On the awarding of Nobel Peace prize to Malala Yousafzai, Nawaz Sharif said Pakistani people are delighted on the development. Malala, who had gone through tough times, enjoys popularity and fame in Pakistan, he added.
