ABU DHABI: Pakistan won the first test match against New Zealand by 248 runs on the final day. The win also made Misbah-ul Haq Pakistan´s most successful Test captain with 15 wins in 33 Tests, bettering the 14-win record of Imran Khan (48 Tests) and Javed Miandad (34 Tests).

Speaking to reporters following Pakistan’s win, Misbah said it was a proud moment for him as his name was mentioned alongside Imran Khan and Javed Miandad.

Misbah praised the performance of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) despite the changes in management. Misbah thanked the PCB for providing him with the opportunity to lead the national side for the last four year.
