Nawaz, Khursheed shortlist 4 names for CEC appointment

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Opposition leader Syed Khursheed Shah have shortlisted four names for the appointment of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).

The names include: Chief Justice Federal Shariat Court Sardar Raza, Justice Shakirullah Jan, Justice (retd) Tariq Pervez and Justice (retd) Mian Muhammad Ajmal.

On Monday, the PM and Opposition leader had reviewed six names for the induction of ECP chief. Today, they shortlisted four out of six names.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has already called back the services of Justice Zaheer Jamali as the acting CEC with effect from December 5.
