LAHORE: President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Punjab chapter, Eijaz Chahudhry on Wednesday claimed that the constitution of Pakistan gives them right to stage sit-ins and shut down the cities.
Addressing a press conference here, PTI Punjab President Chaudhry Eijaz said his party’s shut down call against ‘poll-rigging’ will not affect the public, adding that they would not stop the ambulances but would make room for them.
Justifying his party’s shut down call, Mr. Eijaz added his party would appeal to the citizens, business chambers, transporters and farmers to stage protest sit-ins and block the roads on PTI chief Imran Khan’s call against ‘election rigging’.
He further said Imran Khan-led PTI would not allow anyone to forcefully shut down the business or spark riots.
Commenting on the resumption of talks with the government, the PTI Punjab president said his party would not turn away from dialogue. However, Eijaz Chaudhry added his party would not fall into the traps of government.
