SUKKUR: Appeals of six death-row inmates present in Sindh’s prisons have been rejected while death warrants have been issued for two prisoners Attaullah alias Qasim and Muhammad Aazam who are affiliated with outlawed Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.
Both the inmates will be executed in Sukkur jail on December 23.
The total number of death-row prisoners in Sindh stands at 382.
The break up is as follows: 115 death-row inmates in Central prison Karachi; 178 in Hyderabad; 73 in Sukkur; 14 in Larkana and 1 in Mach prison.
A female inmate named Asma Nawab in Karachi prisons and Khadija in Hyderabad jail are also awaiting executions.
The six death-row inmates whose appeals for pardon were turned down are: Behram Khan, Shafqat, Jalal Marejo, Abdul Razaq Chohan, Attaullah and Muhammad Aazam.
