RAWALPINDI: More than 300 suspects, including foreigners, were rounded up in joint raids conducted by Rangers and police in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Sunday.

According to police sources, armoured vehicles, sniffer dogs and helicopters were used in carrying the raids.

The police said the raids were conducted to preempt a possible violent reaction as a result of the executions of terrorists.

The joint teams of Rangers and police conducted the search for suspects in various parts of Rawalpindi and Islamabad and took in custody more than 300 suspects including foreigners.
