RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif said that the eyes of the entire nation were hooked onto the action plan being formulated by the political and military leadership against terrorists and their supporters.

The COAS concluded the Corps commanders’ meeting held earlier today and said that reaching a political consensus on such a sensitive matter was not a trivial thing.

He further said that for the National Action Plan to progress efficiently and speedily, cooperation of all institutions was the key to success.

Participants of the conference expressed grief over the tragic loss of innocent lives in the Peshawar terrorist attack, expressed solidarity with bereaved families and resolved not to stop operations till elimination of every last terrorist.

The conference reviewed the overall internal and external security situation in the country with particular focus on the ongoing operations. Recent upsurge in Intelligence Based Operations (IBOs) across the country was also reviewed and its effects appreciated.

The COAS also reviewed the homework done by all concerned for execution of their respective assigned tasks listed in the National Action Plan and directed them to follow strict time lines.
