KARACHI: Police authorities on Saturday took notice of alleged custodial killing of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) worker Faraz Alam and suspended Khokhrapar Police Station’s Investigation Incharge, Ali Abbas.

Sources told Geo News that the Investigation Incharge of the Khokrapar Police Station, Ali Abbas, has also been demoted following the reports of MQM activist’s death in police custody.

Earlier, addressing a press conference, MQM leader Haider Abbas Rizvi had accused the police of torturing and killing Faraz Alam in custody, while his party had also announced to observe a peaceful day of mourning on Sunday over his death.
