ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday admitted a petition regarding detention of Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi involved in the 2008 Mumbai attack.
According to sources, Lakhvi’s counsel Rizwan Abbasi pleaded before the court of Justice Noor-ul-Haq Qureshi for an early hearing regarding his clients detention. The court has admitted the petition and will hear the arguments on the 26th of January.
In the mean time Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Mujahid Sherdil has extended Lakhvi’s detention for thirty days. Lakhvi’s counsel has maintained that he will challenge the extension of his clients detention in court.
