KARACHI: Ahead of the cricket World Cup 2015 the Pakistani side is faced with yet another problem. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) offered 3-month long contracts which the players have rejected.
According to PCB sources, the chairman Shaharyar Khan tried to discuss the issue with captain Misbah-ul Haq but the captain and other players refused to budge from their stand and are now traveling abroad out of contract.
Sources have also revealed that the PCB plans on dismissing certain players following the World Cup. Realising the impending crackdown against them, the players have united against any possible action rejecting the 3-month-duration contracts.
The PCB chairman confirmed the reservations and stated that players have rejected the 3-month contracts and have demanded regular one-year contracts ahead of the World Cup. The chairman is however hopeful that a middle ground will be found ahead of the mega event.
