ATC approves detention petition against MQM sector incharge

KARACHI: An anti terrorist court (ATC) has approved Ranger’s petition for a ninety-day detention of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) sector incharge Rafiq alias Kain.

According to Rangers the accused is involved in the 12th May carnage along with target killings and other heinous crimes.

Accused Abdul Rafiq who was arrested from Mehmoodabad during a targeted operation was presented at the ATC court by the Rangers special task force amid tight security.

The Rangers law officer said that the accused was a sector incharge of MQM and a grade 18 employ of State Bank.

On the other hand MQM’s legal team has said that Abdul Rafiq is innocent and his arrest was a conspiracy to malign the party.
