LHC dismisses petition seeking confiscation of spot-fixing trio's assets

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday said that the petition seeking confiscation of assets of cricketers Mohammad Aamir, Salman Butt, and Mohammad Asif was not admissible.

The petition was filed by a citizen who demanded that the court should seize their assets because they have been found guilty in spot fixing and embarrassed the nation.

While dismissing the petition, the court said that the cricketers have already faced punishment and they cannot be disciplined further.

The trio was banned on February 5, 2011 by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The ICC allowed Aamir to return to domestic cricket in January 2015.
