LAHORE: Traffic remained suspended for hours on Monday as doctors from Services Hospital staged a sit-in to protest against nonpayment of wages of trainee doctors and targeted killing of the fraternity in the city.

The protesting doctors held the rally on Jail Road and blocked traffic for several hours making it difficult for schoolchildren and ambulances to through it.

They demanded of the government to bring culprits behind targeted killing of doctors to book and provide better security to the fraternity.

The protesters also demanded of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to take action against corrupt bureaucracy for creating hurdles in deliverance of trainee doctors’ wages.
