ISLAMABAD: Jahanzeb Jamaldini, Balochistan National Party (Mengal) candidate for Senate’s Deputy Chairman, has withdrawn his nomination papers, leaving the battle for the slot between JUI-F’s Maulana Abdul Ghafor Haidri and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Shibli Faraz.

Mr Jamaldini, who is sole representative of his party in the parliament’s upper house, withdrew his nomination today (Thursday).

According to reports, the PTI candidate enjoys support of only eight Senators. Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Sirajul Haq has urged Senators to make their decision on merit and in accordance with their oath.
