LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday dismissed the plea of alleged mastermind of Mumbai attacks, Zaki-ur-Rehman Lahkvi against his confinement.

Lakhvi had pleaded to declare his detention void as it was already ordered by the higher judiciary to set him free.

In his petition, Lakhvi further stated that his detention was contempt of court after the higher judiciary ordered for his release.

Punjab Home Department had ordered his confinement a day after the detention orders of Lakhvi were declared void by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on March 13.

The court had ordered that the petitioner be released immediately if he was not required in any other case.
