ISLAMABAD: Nearly all the Pakistanis, stranded in Yemen, have been evacuated while a few are staying by their own choice in the conflict hit country, said Foreign Office spokesperson.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Tasneem Aslam, in a weekly news briefing, said Pakistan, Turkey and Iran are concerned over Yemen situation. She said, “Pakistan and Iran are agreed over political solution of Yemen crisis.”

Tasneem Aslam said majority of the parliament has supported to defend sovereignty and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia.

She said the joint session of the Parliament is debating what Pakistan’s role should be in the ongoing crisis in Yemen. Parliamentarians have been informed by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif of Saudi Arabia’s request for military assistance.

The government has also stated that Pakistan will defend Saudi Arabia if the country’s sovereignty or territorial integrity is threatened, she said.

Aslam further said the visit of Iranian Foreign Minister Javed Zarif was scheduled.
