ISLAMABAD: Former Chief of Army Staff General (retd) Aslam Baig on Monday said that the ‘weaknesses’ of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) would fade away gradually in time and that it would continue to remain intact as a political party in the days to come.

He said expressed these views during an exclusive interview with Geo News anchor Salim Safi in his program ‘Jirga’.

General Baig said MQM was formed by former president of Pakistan, General Zia-ul-Haq.

He said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, who is trying to make inroads into MQM’s stronghold, will not be successful in his effort.
