ISLAMABAD: A three-member judicial commission started its open court proceedings on Thursday to investigate alleged rigging and irregularities in the May 2013 general elections.

The commission headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Nasirul Mulk comprises Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan. Hamid Ali has been appointed as the commission's secretary.

Several political parties and people in person have submitted the evidences, record and pleas before the JC.

The JC, headed by Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk, had given deadline to the political parties, contested the 2013 general elections to submit proofs regarding alleged rigging till 6:00PM April 15.

Over 26 political parties including the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), PML-Q and others presented evidence to the commission on the last date.
