Ayyan Ali’s bail plea rejected

RAWALPINDI: A Customs Court on Wednesday rejected the bail plea of model Ayyan Ali in the currency smuggling case.

The decision was announced by Judge Rana Aftab after arguments had been completed.

Earlier during proceedings, the lawyer for Ayyan Ali said she was unaware that travelling outside the country with $500,000 was a crime.

Latif Khosa who is representing the model said the money in question was obtained when Ayyan and her brother sold a plot through a property dealer.

The bail plea had been filed on May 18 by the model’s lawyer.
