Weather turns pleasant as rain breaks heat spell in parts of country

ISLAMABAD: The weather turned pleasant after parts of Punjab and Northern areas received heavy and light rain early on Tuesday.

The federal capital Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Peshawar and Gilgit-Baltistan received light and heavy the shower.

In Lahore, various low -lying areas including Lakshmi Chowk, Dharampur, Wasanpur and others were inundated after the downpour.

The Metrological Office has forecast cloudy weather and intermittent rain during next 24 hours in various parts of the country.

On Monday, rain in different parts of Karachi broke a days-long heat spell in the city, with some areas receiving downpour with strong winds.

A heatwave appeared to have persisted for the fourth consecutive day in the port city but rain and cooler winds finally seem to have broken the heat spell.
