ISLAMABAD: A documentary film on young Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai will hit cinema screens across the globe on October 2.
“He Named Me Malala” shows events that led to the Taliban attack on Malala, her speech to the United Nations, interviews of her father, teachers and relatives and a ceremony where she was given Nobel Peace Price last year for speaking out about girls’ rights for education.
Though the documentary will be released worldwide on October 2, in her home country (Pakistan) the date for release has not yet been announced.
Mubashir Hasan, the Pakistan Censor Board Chairman, said the film has been approved for release without any objection by the censor board authorities.
