KARACHI: At least three people including a child were injured when an office of counter-terrorism department (CTD) of Sindh Police came under a cracker attack in the city’s Malir neighbourhood on Thursday.

According to police, unidentified motorcycle riders fled after hurling a home-made bomb outside the CTD office, injuring a child among three people passing through the site in a rickshaw and a bus.

Injured were taken to a nearby hospital for the medical treatment.

SSP CTD Junaid Shaikh said his entire team remained safe in the attack and vowed not to move the office to another locality of the metropolis. He said facilitators of same suspected terrorists were involved in the incident, whose arrests were made public earlier today.

SSP Shaikh had announced arrests of two suspected target killers, Riaz Butt and Sharjeel in separate raids in Korangi and Baldia Town areas earlier in the day.

Riaz Butt, belonging to Uzair Baloch group of ‘Lyari gang-war’, confessed to have killed over 30 people. Sharjeel on the other hand allegedly belonged to ‘a political party’ involved in several incidents of targeted killing.
