In 2018 elections, PML-N’s candidate Ali Pervaiz won election from NA-127 Lahore-V by securing 113,265 votes. Jamsheed Iqbal candidate of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) stood second by security 66,818 votes in the polls. This year, PML-N field its Senior Vice-President and Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz from the constituency. Besides Maryam, PPPP’s Iftikhar Shahid, MQM-P’s Kiran Muhammad Ali, PTI-backed independent candidate Shehzad Farooq, JUI-F’s Rashid Ahmed Khan and TLP’s Muhammad Zaheer are vying for the seat of the NA, the house which votes for the prime minister.
