TEHRAN: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday stressed for speedy implementation of economic agreements with Pakistan.

He made the remarks while receiving credentials of the new Pakistani Ambassador to Tehran Asif Ali Khan Durrani. He said the close and friendly relations between the two nations facilitate mutual economic cooperation, the Iranian media reported.

He said speedy implementation of agreements already signed between the two governments was necessary for deepening of economic cooperation. Turning to the activities of terrorist groups which abide by no Islamic moral and humanitarian norms, President Rouhani stressed the need for further cooperation to promote security in the region and along borders.

The Pakistani diplomat pointed to the strategic cooperation between the two brotherly and friendly nations during hard times and hoped for even better economic and trade relations. He said his country was ready to expand cooperation with Iran in all areas, including terrorism. The ambassador also conveyed the warm greetings of the Pakistani premier to President Rouhani.
