Cash, smuggled smartphones seized at Islamabad airport

The passenger left his luggage along with smuggled smartphones and six-thousand pounds in cash and fled the airport.

ISLAMABAD: Customs officials at the Benazir International Airport in Islamabad seized a large number of smartphones smuggled into the country from the United Kingdom on Monday.

According to sources, a passenger travelling on a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight 786 from London arrived at the Islamabad airport carrying a large number of smartphones and six thousand pounds sterling in cash.

The passenger Mirza Kamran, a resident of Jehlum left his luggage and managed to escape from the airport.
