LAHORE: Provincial Food Authority destroyed unhealthy meat on Monday, which was being served to patients with intellectual disabilities in Lahore.
The patients in a mental hospital were being served meat of sick and unhealthy animals.
Provincial minister for food Bilal Yasin visited the hospital’s kitchen and confiscated a huge quantity of unhealthy meat.
Following which, 150Kg of meat was destroyed and an FIR was registered against the food contractor.
The provincial minister said that no mechanism was in place to check the quality of meat in the kitchen.
