LONDON: An 11-year-child is set to become Britain’s youngest mother, reports British press.

The child, who has not been identified by the authorities, is expected to give birth in the near future, however it is informed that the police are investigating the case, with the father is believed to be only a few years older than the expecting mother.

Britain still has the highest rate of teenage pregnancy in Western Europe with 2.9 out of every 100 girls aged between 15 and 19 giving birth every year, said the findings bear out research last year at Southampton University.
