JALALABAD: At least eight people were killed in the Afghan city of Jalalabad on Thursday, reported TOLO News.

The explosion also injured 15 other people in the city situated in Nangarhar province.

The attack, which targetted civilians at a public demonstration, is being reported as a suicide attack but officials have yet to give a confirmation, added the Afghan media outlet.

The demonstrators were protesting against insecurity in the province'sKhewa district.
