Addressing a rally ahead of the by-election this weekend, the PML-N leader also warned of a 'second wave of inflation coming soon'

"You all will only see the lion and no lotas (turncoats) on October 14," he stressed. "We will defeat the turncoat candidate — nominated by a leader who has thrown people into the 'quicksand' of inflation — through votes," he added.

The PML-N leader went on to comment on the arrest of ShehbazSharif, the former chief minister of Punjab, and said: "They are preparing to arrest me as well and I will fight!"

Tallal Chaudhry, also of thePML-N, was also present at the rally. He commented that competition in politics was "based on work accomplished [by a party or politician] or character".

Asserting that his party would not back down, Chaudhry promised they would continue working for the people. "Don't fight us with words; we can do the same!"

The party's leaders also mentioned that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would bring prosperity toPakistan and, if completed, there "will be more jobs than the youth" in the country.
