ISLAMABAD: Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Syed Khursheed Shah on Wednesday said that Imran Khan admitted his government's failure when he mentioned midterm election.

Speaking to media in Islamabad, Shah said, “If a prime minister in just four months' time hints at the possibility of midterm election, then there could be no bigger failure than that.”

“This is something even the weakest prime minister did not say. Imran Khan has admitted his and his government’s failure, but the failure of Imran and his government is most certainly not the failure of parliament,” he added.

“If decisions are made in the parliament then the situation can become better.”

The PPP leader added that the government has been exposed in just four months. “Cannot say if a new government will come into power or there will be changes in the parliament.”

“PPP and opposition are insistent that the assembly completes its duration. The opposition does not want an uncertain situation in the country which troubles the nation. As it is, the country is going through a difficult economic situation,” he added.
