World Cup 2019 prize money of $10 million is the highest in the tournament's history

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday announced a $10 million total prize money for the upcoming Men's Cricket World Cup 2019, with the winners of the 10-team tournament earning a purse of $4 million – the highest prize pot to date.

The total prize pot of $10 million will see the runners-up assured of $2 million and the losing semi-finalists $800,000 each at the end of the 46-day tournament being played across 11 venues from May 30, said a press release from the ICC.
