Pakistan Medical Association raises entrance test qualification eligibility

KARACHI: The road to becoming a doctor became more difficult as the Pakistan Medical Association has raised its test qualification eligibility.

Students will now need a minimum 70 per cent marks in intermediate exams to sit for entry tests of MBBS and BDS. Previously students were required to secure 60 per cent in their examinations to sit for the entry test.

The 70 per cent criteria will also be applicable for overseas Pakistani students who have completed their last two years of schooling abroad.

Sindh Health Minister Azra Afzal was critical of the decision, saying that the change was going to be detrimental for students of the province.
