QUETTA: Senior orthopedic surgeon Prof. Dr. Lal Khan Kakar has announced to organize symposium and awareness raising rally on osteoporosis (bones' disease) in the provincial capital on October 20.

Talking to media persons here on Sunday, he said that osteoporosis had become a fatal disease in our country as 40 to 45-years-old men particularly women were being suffered from osteoporosis in comparison with the US and Europe where it was reported in 80-85 years-old persons.

He said there was need of hour to raise awareness among people about dangers of osteoporosis.

He advised parents to feed their children eggs, milk and butterfly in order to save them from osteoporosis in future.

He said that girls fell in craze of dieting to become slim and smart had making themselves vulnerable to osteoporosis.

He advised women to must take sun energy which create vitamin D in their body.

He said doctors should prescribe vitamins to patients who were being vulnerable to the disease.

He said that proper food rich in calcium and vitamin C and D could prevent osteoporosis.
