IER holds workshop on volunteerism

PESHAWAR: Institute of Education Research (IER), University of Peshawar in collaboration with Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Youth and Volunteer on Thursday started three-day training workshop on titled "Volunteerism in Emergency situation".

The purpose of the training workshop was to train youth for copping with the emergency situation. The Pakistan Red Crescent Society, KPK Assistant Director, Ahmad Hussein formally launched the training workshop. A large number of institute students, faculty members were present at the opening ceremony.

Addressing the inaugural session, Secretary FATA, Tufail Ahmad said the role of Pakistan Red Crescent Society has recognized both at national and international levels during disaster and emergency situations.

The Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Assistant Director, while speaking on the occasion, delivered a comprehensive lecture about pre-cautionary measures during disaster and volunteerism.

The Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Chairman Dr Sher Ahmad will be chief guest on concluding ceremony on Saturday in which certificate will be distributed among the participants of the workshop. (APP)
