KARACHI: Pakistan Sunni Movement (PSM) on Monday strongly criticized Former Home Minister Sindh Dr. Zulfikar Mirza for his alleged provoking during his recent press conference and demanded him to clarify the statement.
Speaking at a press conference at Karachi Press Club, Chairman PSM Shah Siraj-ul-Haq Qadri alleged that Mirza had spoken sacrilegiously by saying he wouldn't migrate from Karachi and equated the statement with migration of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) from Mecca to Madina. "Such statement is highly condemnable and falls under the blasphemy context," Qadri said.
He said it had become routine for politicians who take oath upon holy books to issue political statements to make them appear as 'dignified and truthful'. "All those are not aware of religious values and its importance should abstain from talking on such sensitive matters," he maintained.
Qadri demanded of Mirza to clarify the context of his statement and repent for his irresponsible statement.
Meanwhile, he also announced extending full support to 'Tahafuz-e-Namoos-e-Risalat' rally called by Sunni Ittehad Council on October 22.
