LAHORE: Commissioner Lahore Division Jawad Rafiq Malik has said that special campaign for disposal of solid waste is in full swing and more than 100,000 tons garbage has been removed from 1,670 plots in the city.

He said this during a briefing to the Punjab Chief Minister regarding the eradication of dengue virus, here on Monday.

He briefed about fogging and spray being conducted in different areas of the city adding that 198 tube-wells have also been checked in the city.

It was informed during the briefing that the campaign against used tyres as well as those placed in open areas was continuing and 2,794 tyre-shops and godowns had been checked while stores of condemned tyres in various government departments had also been checked.
