KHUZDAR: Two more Baloch militant commanders belonging to banned outfits fighting the government surrendered to authorities on Sunday along with 57 supporters.

At a press conference in Khuzdar, provincial minister Sanaullah Zehri said the militant commanders included Ubaillah alias Babrik and Din Jan alias Meeran Hasni who belonged to the banned Lashkar-e-Balochistan.

“Our doors are also open to other young men who have gone to the mountains. You have been misled by tribal leaders who are sitting in Switzerland while you are fighting in the mountains,” said the provincial minister addressing the 57 rebels who had given up arms along with the commanders.

“Disgruntled Baloch should come back from the mountains, will welcome them all,” said Zehri, sitting alongside Ubaillah who announced his decision to bid farewell to armed rebellion and to join the mainstream.

Sunday’s development comes 10 days after Wali Mohammad alias Haji Kalati, a key leader of the banned United Baloch Army (UBA), surrendered to authorities along with 50 supporters.
