KHULNA: West Indian captain Darren Sammy won the toss and opted to bat in the first one-day international against Bangladesh at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium here on Friday.

The five-match series followed the two Tests which the West Indies won 2-0.

Bangladesh have handed debuts to four players after their star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was ruled out of the first two matches. Sohag Gazi, Abul Hasan, Anamul Haque and Mominul Haque are playing their first one-day internationals.
