Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce turn down Met Gala's invitation; Here's why

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are not interested in going to the Met Gala this year.

The Costume Institute hosts its exotic spring exhibition every year on the first Monday of May at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

However, according to TMZ, the popstar and her NFL boyfriend have RSVP’d their invitations to the star studded event as “no.”

This year, the event's date falls in the timeline of Taylor’s return to the road for her Eras tour, which begins on Thursday, May 9 in Paris.

The reason behind Travis’ refusal remains to be unknown.

Taylor and Travis went public with their romance in September, with the singer jetting back and forth to support him at NFL games, including the Super Bowl.

The couple recently attended Coachella 2024 that Travis “absolutely” loved to be a part of.

In an episode of his podcast New Heights, the tight end said, "I love live music, man, I absolutely love live music. I don't get enough of it in my life, I really enjoy any event. I just like going to events, going places where people are seeing talents... all these talented people in the world.”

“I just like to experience that type of s***, like I love experiencing new cultures. That's the one thing that I really enjoy about Coachella is that it's not just one genre of music. It's everything," he had shared.
