Zendaya returns to Met Gala as co-chair after five-year break

Zendaya is set to return at the Met Gala after a five-year hiatus.

During her appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, Zendaya shared her excitement about return at the prestigious event, where she will also serve as co-chair alongside Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, and Chris Hemsworth.

Zendaya described her recent ascent up the Met Gala steps as 'very daunting' but is eager to make her mark again.

"Going up the steps is very daunting, and I haven't been back for maybe four or five years, so this is, like, my first time back at the Met in quite a while," the Dune star said.

The actress views her red carpet appearances as opportunities to express creative characters through clothing.

Zendaya explained that fashion allows her to embody different personas, such as "the woman today who wears a green suit."

The theme for this year Met Gala is Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, which will be complemented by a dress code titled The Garden of Time, inspired by J.G. Ballard’s 1962 short story.
