Tori Spelling reveals why she stayed married to Dean McDermott

Tori Spelling recently talked about the crucial factor that convinced her to stay with Dean McDermott.

The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum’s statement comes after she went public with separation from her husband of 18 years, listing the official date of their divorce to be 17 June, 2023.

According to the filing, Tori asked the court to grant her spousal maintenance and dismiss Dean from receiving it.

Speaking to her former co-star Shannen Doherty on an episode of hermisSpelling podcast, Tori said, “One of my biggest fears, and this perhaps did make me stay longer, is I feel like in our world it’s difficult to be with a man and have him not feel emasculated,”

Not by our doing, but by who we are and have been labeled by society. We’re not just women who make money. We’re women that have power, we’re women that have fame. I don’t know any difference. I feel guilty,” the 50-year-old actress said.

Previously, in the debut episode of her podcast, Tori had said that she didn’t get a divorce before for the sake of her children.

“We always say, ‘Hey, it made it 18 years. It shouldn’t have made it 18 years," Spelling said. "And I think he would say the same thing if he and I had a real heart-to-heart. It would have been over a lot sooner,” she had said.
